Dear Colleagues,
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a holiday break…..and those that had to work, I hope you had some time to spend with family and friends; and time to recover. Just a few things to update everyone on:
Feedback for our OAGS Surgical Symposium:
We will be meeting as a board at the end of the month to debrief the Symposium. If you haven’t given any feedback or have more feedback, please do so in the next couple of weeks, so we can have an in depth review. Survey or Email (info@oags.org).

OMA Elections:
The OMA elections are now open until February 7th, 2025. I encourage everyone to participate, as our healthcare system has been in perpetual downward vortex for many years. Primary care and specialists create a foundation for possible change going forward. In addition to the Section election, there are also 2 general surgeons running for the OMA President-Elect and OMA Board positions.
To ensure General Surgery has a voice at the table, please consider voting for the general surgeons running at all 3 levels:
- OMA President-Elect (1 vacancy, 2 candidates) – Dr. Grace Ma, Sudbury (video), (poster)

Recipe of the month:
Turmeric Milk (for 1 cup of milk)
¼ tsp turmeric powder,
¼ tsp minced ginger);
Boil above ingredients and strain. Add sweetener of choice (I prefer organic honey).
