General Surgeon – South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC – Walkerton Site)

South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) invites applications from practicing, independently
licensed General Surgeons to join our dynamic, collegial team based in Walkerton, Ontario.
As our program grows and services expand, we’re seeking a motivated, team-oriented surgeon
who values high-quality rural care and sustainable practice.

• Obstetrical support: Caesarean section competence required. Mentorship/transition
support available for appropriate candidates.
• Attractive incentives: Eligibility for relocation support and Northern & Rural
Recruitment and Retention Initiative (NRRRI) funding (for qualifying candidates).

Candidate Profile
• Independent (or imminently eligible) CPSO licensure in General Surgery
• Strong endoscopy and laparoscopic skill set; interest in broad-based rural general surgery
• Commitment to collegial teamwork, and patient-centred care
• Caesarean section competence (or willingness to complete a supported pathway to
independence)
