Elections

The next OAGS Board Election will occur during the Business portion of the next OAGS Annual Meeting. Although the OAGS is comprised of 14 board members, approximately half are up for re-election on staggered years. Any number of candidates can run, but only 8 candidates can be voted onto the board this year. Six board members up for re-election will be running again , but new candidates are also welcome to run.
Prerequisites & Duties:

• Deadline for New Nominations 2 weeks prior to election
• Election Date: Saturday, November 8, 2025
• Time: 5-6pm
• Place: OAGS Surgical Symposium – Annual Business Meeting, Toronto Hilton (Ballroom)
• Length of Term: 2 years commencing Jan.1, 2026-Dec.31, 2027
• Requirements:
  • must be a current OAGS Active/Associate member
  • must be RCPSC-certified or equivalent therein
  • must be currently living/practising in Ontario
  • must have 2 current OAGS member nominator signatures – Active or Associate members
• Duties & Responsibilities:
  • must be able to attend all or majority of 4 Saturday board meetings in Toronto or virtually each year
  • must be willing to be involved in one or more OAGS committees
  • must fulfill a 2yr term with option to run for re-election up to 5 term max
  • must try to attend and help facilitate the annual meeting
