The Opportunity
Dryden Regional Health Centre (DRHC) is seeking a General Surgeon to join our rural healthcare team in beautiful northwestern Ontario. Locum opportunities are always available. Advanced skills in minimally invasive surgery and/or C-section are highly valued. Surgeons at DRHC are part of a supportive Regional Surgical Network that provides competitive remuneration and on-call backup. New grads are welcome!
The Hospital Facility
• Two modern OR theatres, including one fully integrated MIS suite.
• 24/7 on-site diagnostics: CT, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and lab with nearby regional pathology in Kenora.
• 24/7/365 Emergency Department.
• Support from two local GP-Anesthetists and one local family physician with enhanced surgical skills providing C-section coverage.
• Access to tertiary care in Thunder Bay and Winnipeg via ORNGE Air.
Compensation & Incentives
• Competitive APP salary remuneration.
• Eligible for $136,308 over four years through the Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative.
• Additional return of service incentives available from DRHC, including relocation expense reimbursement up to $15,000.
• Eligibility for Canada Student Loan forgiveness – up to $60,000 over 5 years.
• Site visit support through the Community Assessment Visit Program or Northern Specialist Locum Program (NSLP) to explore Dryden with your family before committing.
