St. Joseph’s Healthcare are seeking applicants to the McMaster University Breast Surgery
Fellowship. This clinical fellowship appointment will be for one year. The fellow will rotate on
the Breast Surgery service at 2 large academic centers, which will include exposure to the full
breadth of breast surgery which includes management of malignant and benign disease. The
fellow will complete other rotations including medical oncology, radiation oncology, research
and sub rotations of pathology, palliative care, and radiology. Elective time is available. General
Surgical cases to maintain skills are integrated into the St Joseph Site. There is an on Call
General Surgical component. In addition, there may be opportunity to cover emergency General
Surgery call depending on the candidates’ qualifications. The successful candidate will have
completed a General Surgery residency and have a demonstrated interest in breast surgery. Both
Canadian Medical Graduates (CMG) and International Medical Graduates (IMG) are eligible.
CMGs should be eligible for or have certification from the Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Canada. Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.
Applicants not eligible for an independent practice license must have funding support. In
accordance with Canada’s immigration policy, applications from Canadian Citizens and
permanent residents of Canada will be prioritized.
