OAGS Resident Liaisons

In our attempt to reach out to all 6 General Surgery residency programs in Ontario, we have a resident contact or liaison for each. Should any residents or General Surgeons have any resident-related questions in your respective region, please contact one of our liaisons listed below or our Resident Representative.   • McMaster University: Dr. Vicki Archer

Unpaid Position:

  • Must be a current OAGS Resident Member
  • act as contact person for your respective program
  • reach out to program peers and encourage awareness of the OAGS and benefits of becoming a member
  • bring concerns of peers to the OAGS Resident Representative and/or the OAGS executive office directly
  • assist the OAGS in promoting the annual meeting and other events/surveys via flyers, email communications, social media, etc.
  • help with early morning registration of the OAGS Annual Meeting
  • involved in review of resident research grant submissions

Appointment:

  • Usually chosen or endorsed by the outgoing resident liaison to the OAGS
  • Otherwise, it will be endorsed by the respective Program Director's Office to the OAGS
